Text: 50/50 Conversations by Andrew E. Bennett

This course is intended to increase the students` accuracy and fluency in spoken English through discussions of photographs, drawings, literary texts, and topics from psychology, politics, and popular culture. Students will be expected to speak entirely in English and to take an active part in class discussion. To facilitate discussion among students, the class will frequently be divided into small groups. Punctual attendance is important. Grades will be lowered for absences and for repeated or excessive lateness. Final grades will be based on attendance, class participation, and scores on exercises and quizzes.
